Starting in 2024, Harris Event Group, (HEG) will be handling weddings and large celebrations of all kinds in the newly named “Gem on the Allegheny”. Owner TJ Harris, a 20-year event planning veteran, is bringing creativity and a team of chefs, entertainers and designers on board to make new memories at the Allegheny RiverTrail Park.
Allegheny RiverTrail Park offers breathtaking views of the Allegheny River in a serene park setting and has opened the doors of the Welcome Center, covered Pavilion, Party Room and adjoining Aft Deck for numerous events and parties over the years – from fundraisers to baby showers and everything in between. Notably, the grandest celebrations are the RiverFront Weddings.
Harris has a background in the entertainment industry that spans over 20 years. In that time, he has planned, promoted, produced and performed in venues all around the world. Prior to launching Harris Event Group, Harris managed Modern Era Weddings for three years. He was always drawn to event production and worked hard to be, as he put it, “the Captain of the ship.”
His experience in the industry has yielded him a vast network of professionals, from world-class chefs, experts in lighting, professional photographers, top-tier DJs, multiple sources for equipment rentals, and even mimes and party clowns.
