Winchester Thurston Summer Camp is set for another season of athletics, art, exploring, science, and more at Allegheny RiverTrail Park. Last year, the camp spent five weeks at ARP and hosted 170 campers from all over the city. With over 70% of campers coming from other schools, they had a blast making friends, hunting for gold in the hills, painting on the dock, experimenting with water, and are excited for round 2.

WT Camp spans ten weeks of summer, where kids can attend one week or multiple, and explore the city in a supportive and engaging environment. Annie Trisch, Director of Programs at Winchester Thurston, shares, “WT Camp is pretty magical. We have an amazing team of teachers, staff, and campers who all love what they do and do what they love. In the same summer you can learn outdoor survival skills, sing or play along to Taylor Swift on the ukulele, learn to horseback ride, and create amazing works of art.”

The five weeks at ARP will be filled with community helpers like PGH2O, Art in Motion, the local EMS, and more. The days at ARP are built around the themes the campers register for and the park adds its own element of adventure and unknown. “It is the perfect place for campers who thrive on being able to move their bodies while they learn,” says Annie. With new features coming to the park, like the Nature Play Space, they’re excited for even more opportunities to adventure.

Winchester Thurston Summer Camp is for all kids, starting from age 3 up to 12th grade! If Aspinwall is a hike from home, there’s optional transportation available for campers from Winchester Thurston to ARP for the weeks spent at the park. Explore WT Camp’s limitless options starting with filling out their intake form. We’re excited to see them (and you!) this summer!
